Owens Valley sits between the majestic 14,000ft. mountain ranges that border it on the east and west. The valley is known for its outdoor recreation: fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking, biking backpacking, camping and hang gliding, to name but a few of it's more popular attractions. If it’s done outdoors, it’s done here! 60 miles to the south lies Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States. Just 100 miles to the east of its 14,500 foot peak lies the lowest point on the North American Continent – Badwater in Death Valley – at almost 300 feet below sea level. Visit the Bishop Chamber of Commerce website for more information. Bishop is a great place to vacation – summer or winter! |
